Getting to Know your Camera

Also on the front you may wish to look for :

  • S-Video In/Out
  • FIrewire Port

On the bottom of the carera you might find:

  • Tri-pod Footer
  • Open/Eject Tape Button

On one of the sides of the camera you might find:

  • Microphone Jack
  • Headphone Jack
  • A/V In/Out Jack

Also on the side view you may find:

  • Rec Pause (Line In Button)
  • Digital Effects Button
  • Menu Button
  • DC Port (Power Plug)

Also on the top you may wish to find:

  • Microphone Footer

Exploring the Movie Maker Desktop

Open Movie Maker 2

  1. Clicki the START button.
  2. Click on ALL PROGRAMS.
  3. Click on Movie Maker.

Importing Still Pictures
  1. Put your pictures in "MY DOCUMENTS" in the "MY PICTURES" folder.
  2. Select "IMPORT PICTURES" from the Movie Tasks -Capture Video section.
  3. Import these pictures to the "COLLECTIONS" pane.
  4. Drag your pictures to the STORYBOARD or TIMELINE
Saving a Project
  1. Select "FILE"
  2. Select "SAVE PROJECT"
  3. Select the "MY VIDEOS" folder to save this project.
  4. Enter a name for this project.
  5. Make sure the"Save as type" is set for WINDOWS MOVIE MAKER PROJECTS.
  6. Click the "SAVE" button.
Adding a Title
  1. Select "MAKE TITLES OR CREDITS" from the Edit Movie section of the Movie Tasks.
  2. Select where you wish to add this title.
  3. Enter the Title of the movie in the box
  4. Select "EDIT THE FONT" to change the font, color, or size.
  5. Select "CHANGE THE ANIMATION" to select and animation.
Adding a Transition
  1. Change your view to "SHOW STORYBOARD" using the button about the timeline.
  3. Click on the transition you wish to use and drag it to the space in between the two clips.
Adding Music
  1. Find the song you wish to use and import it to the "COLLECTIONS" pane.
  2. Click on the clip and drag it to the "Audio/Music"
Saving a Movie
  1. Select "SAVE MOVIE" from the FILE menu.
  2. Select "MY COMPUTER" -Save your movie for playback on your computer.
  3. Click the "NEXT" button.
  4. Enter a name for your movie.
  5. Select a place to save your movie. I suggest the "My Videos Folder".
  6. Click the "NEXT" button.
  8. Click the "NEXT" button. Saving a movie may take a few minutes or so.
  • Plan your project idea
  • Film 15-20 minutes of video.
  • Bring a Music CD
  • Bring Headphones if you’ve got them.
